Kofax Reporting Administrator's Guide

Operation and Maintenance

This chapter provides information about daily operation of Kofax Reporting. It includes hints

about:

▪ Monitoring WSA

▪ Managing Failed Messages Manually

▪ Deleting old data from databases (staging, warehouse)

▪ Managing MS SQL Databases

▪ Managing Log Files

Monitoring WSA

WSA provides a monitoring interface with the following main functions:

▪ Monitoring WSA status (for troubleshooting)

▪ Configuring WSA

▪ Viewing messages in storage

▪ Managing Failed Messages Manually

Start WSA Monitor utility from the Kofax Reporting group in the Windows Start menu.

If WSA password protection is enabled (see Configuring WSA Advanced Settings,

Security options tab), log on using the user name "admin" and a password.

On the menu, click Status to display status of WSA and its internal components and

connections. This information might be important for troubleshooting.

On the menu, click Configuration Tool to access WSA configuration. Remote

configuration can be disabled, in that case, clicking the button displays an error (see

Configuring WSA Advanced Settings, Security options tab).

On the menu, click one of the 4 storage buttons to display the particular storage folder.

On the WSA Sender side:

▪ The Inbound Status | Active folder shows messages received from Kofax applications

before they are delivered to the WSA Receiver. Also, messages from the MSMQ dead

letter queue are stored here.

▪ The Inbound Status | Processed folder shows messages delivered to WSA Receiver.

Messages that could not be delivered end up here if an administrator deletes them

from the Inbound Status | Active folder.

▪ The outbound storage folders are not used.
